Highlights:

Unique Fortresses

Kyminlinna fortress is one of the most interesting and largest fortresses in Finland, with a history of more than 200 years that includes colourful twists and turns, interesting characters and one big bang.

Fort Slava - the circular fortress was built on the island of Kukouri Between 1792 and 1794 to guard the entrance to the port of Svensksund. At the fort, you can hear stories about the area's role in maritime defence and enjoy a self-guided walk along the island's paths.

Langinkoski Imperial Fishing Lodge

The summer residence of Emperor Alexander III at Langinkoski offers a unique window on life under the Tsars. The charming imperial hut is situated in a scenic location on the shores of Langinkoski. The tour includes a guided tour of the area and a walk along the magnificent rapids.

Sea Cruise from Langinkoski to Kukour Fortress

You board a traditional wooden boat from Langinkoski beach. Finland's oldest wooden waterbus Tuula will take you through bridges and straits to the front of the harbour in Kotka, from where the journey continues to Kukouri Fortress.

Metsola Steam Brewery

We pass by the steam brewery, the second oldest building in the Kotka area. The brewery used to brew Ukko beer with steam. Today, the building has been restored and houses meeting and congress facilities as well as the Keisarinsatama restaurant.

Port of Kotka

Through bridges and straits we move on to the port of Kotka (Kantasatama), a developing area of Kotka. In the area you will see some great architecture: the Vellamo Maritime Centre, museum ships, Restaurant Cairo, the Event Centre Satama and the campus of Kotka University of Applied Sciences.

Sapokka Marina

The cruise and excursion end at Sapokka marina in the centre of Kotka, known for its award-winning water park and stunning scenery. In Sapokka water garden you can admire the magnificent flower plantations, waterfall and rare trees.

Fascinating Stories on Land and Sea
